Vital statistics

Leo had his 12 month check today, so he was prodded, measured, undressed and weighed. He continues to be a rather solid little boy... up around the 90th percentile for weight and head circumference, but languishing at 50% for height. Built like a brick s**thouse, in other words. Sister I know you said on the phone that you don't always get a sense of scale in pictures, when you don't know how big the other things are - so the one below of him on Ben's knee is for you!

In other news he continues to eat us out of house and home. Like his mummy, he loves all forms of bread products. Brown bread, fruit toast, ciabatta, crumpets, muffins, pitta, cheese on toast - all go straight down the hatch with much smacking of lips. He also smacks his lips if someone else is eating something he wants (unless it's another baby in which case he just grabs it out of their hand). Yesterday I discovered him eating one of those Dairylea lunchable packs with cheese spread and crackers, which he'd found in the oven of the toy kitchen at mum's group. Bark chippings and gravel are other things that I've had to pull out of his mouth. Oh well.

Birthday painting

While Mummy was out babysitting for her friend, Daddy painted a picture as an early birthday present. It would be even better if it actually looked like me, but I didn't say anything.

Daddy made it clear that he painted it from memory and not from a photo or anything. If he'd painted it from a photo, people would put the two side by side and realise just where the problems were. He thinks he's got away with that one.

This week I have been mostly...

.... eating bark chippings ...

... hammering ....

... composing ...

..... just posing, and ....

.... climbing up this ladder on my own. Yes really ...

Entertaining
